My time spent fishing with my father as a child taught me a few basics but our time together was more valuable than any knot or technique is. Even now I rarely ask questions; I enjoy our time together, and that is more than enough for me. I worry deeply about the day I will no longer have that time.
I've had luck with corn and worms. Thanks for the sites Alex Pernice. I have never tried with lures though. Is it worth it to try or is real bait better?
I'm not sure about the rest of you but after a frustrating day outside I want to know what I can do better.
What about if you don't have a boat, and can't afford to charter one?
What do you think about solar powered and or crank powered items. Flashlights, Radio's Charger's Etc. I recently purchased a solar charged flashlight that has a battery back-up and is waterproof. Also it is not expensive. On top of that are solar/crank powered radios. What good would a AM/FM radio have in a survival situation? What do you think about Solar power and/or crank powered gear for survival use?
I have a flashlight that runs of stored solar energy and has a battery back up just in case. it comes with a lanyard and I hang it from my backpack bungeed so the solar cells stay exposed always insuring a full charge.
The Matarese Circle - Robert Ludlom. Sea Wolf - Jack London. If you like military fiction Dale Brown is also a good Author
Possibly, I'm new to the area. It's off of troy schenectady road / Rt 7. Lock 7 road is what will finally bring you to the lock, it's pretty popular.
I've seen some decent Smallmouths taken out of Lock 7... I'm looking for places as well
Phoebe's: Gold or Silver preferably, with a fast retrieve has brought me the best luck.
