What my dad usually uses, I'm not sure of the brand but they are hollow points. So like rezzy dog said just about any hollow point should do.

If you break up flock, a hen decoy could be helpful kee-kee-ing. It brings them back just about every time.

I have one and it is the nicest gun I have. Recoil is like a kiss on the cheek, it takes a little while to break it in so it's not so damn hard to open and close the action but overall it's a great gun.

If I don't do that, what I do is cut around the "ass" and pull the gizzards out from there. You get pretty damn bloody but it works great if you are still out in the woods and are in a rush.

I use the cluck more than anything in the fall. And it doesn't matter if you are wearing a tree/foliage camo pattern. Just as long as you sit up against a tree and put a little bit of brush in front of you, you'll be fine.

It depends what I'm fishing for, when I'm trying to set the hook into a couple of brookies, I use worms. But when I'm going for just about anything else, I use artificials.

I'm 0-3 right now. Went out for deer and turkey, and wouldn't you know it, I see a nice 8pt. I was hunting the youth antlerless season, so I was very upset because I didn't have my bow on me. And the turkeys are eluding me in every way possible.

My dad owns a .300 win mag and it's a beast of a cartridge. It'll take anything down with the right placement, so I don't see any need for a .338. But honestly, I'd rather stick with my .300 WSM just so I don't have to cry every time I sight it in. lol

Rudyglove, who uses 10 pound test line for trout? You are telling him if he doesn't know how to play a fish, use 14 lb line?!? All you need for trout is at the most 6 lb test. joe, try wax worms and a float, small spoons, small rapalas, flatfish, small live bait under a float, power bait with the smallest split shot you have with a bell sinker above that, if you fly fish, dry flies work when the hatches are out, and woolie buggers, also, use the smallest hooks you have, when I trout fish, I use #16 size hooks. But I do agree with rudyglove when he says sharpen your hooks.

.270's bullets are too fast and light to use in brush, so .308 and 30-06 are your best bets for the long range/brush guns.

Like hothar said, large trout are very territorial. If you are catching small trout in one spot, try moving to a different spot. Also, is the pond spring fed or are there any run-offs going into it? If so find out where there is the smallest bit of current. The big ones usually put their nose right into the source to get the most oxygen. Hope I helped. Good luck.

jlfreeborn, has it ever occurred to you that sometimes stocked rainbows/browns don't get caught in one season and just maybe reproduce in the stream?

My personal favorite is the Blue/Silver holographic Panther Martin in sizes 1-2 for trout that are in the 10-16 inch range

For a brookie my biggest is a 12 1/4, Brown is a 18 1/2, and as for rainbows, about 16 inches...

Depends on the angle of the shot. If the deer is at an angle greater than 45 degrees, aim higher than you normally would so the bullet hits the vitals.

I've seen a good size bear taken with a .270. I'm not sure of it's wieght, if I remember correctly, it was about 250lbs or somewhere around there. So yes the .270 is plenty good for bear.

I have a Tikka in .300 WSM. I love it, it does kick a little bit, but like stated above, it's light, accurate, and a kick ass rifle.

I use a .270 with no problems. I handload my .270 and my dad's .280 and honestly, I don't see too much of a difference when it comes down to the size of the bullet. They both kill what you shoot and that's good enough for me.

Put it in as early as you can so the deer get used to it. Look for a flat surface, and clear all of the leaves in the area so you can move your feet in the without making too much noise. Also, touch as little brush/trees as possible to keep your scent in that area to a minimum. And put some brush in front of it and on the sides to break it up a little better. Good luck.

Natural decomp isn't always the best choice. The reason I say this is, if you live in a city where there are laws against that, it'll get you one helluva a fine. And, once you feed the varmints, they hang around. And that is one thing you don't want.

Like so many other people, I wash them with unscented detergent. The nI hang them out on my line for a week or two. Then I put them into those oversized ziplock bags. I usually have good luck with my scent doing that.

Some say it does, and some say it does't. But I think it spooks the "heck" outta them, that's why I use infareds.

Also, it depends on what color the leaves/foliage are. If it's green, wear green camo, and if it's brown and all of those other fall colors, wear brownish camo.

Well, the people that are telling you what draw weight to use are only telling you what they use. It all depends on what you are comfortable pulling back and ultimately, how strong you are. I am about 5'10" with the same build, my bow is set at 65# with a 70% let-off. Your draw length shoud be around 28 1/2 inches. And once you get your bow, pull it back without an arrow knocked for a few days just so you get the right muscles in your arms working.

One thing is a comortable seat. And most importantly toilet paper, you never know when you'll have to go. And if you do, its better to use TP instead of dead leaves!

Well rabbit, there is one Glock that is made for small hands. I'm not sure of the model, but I honestly do not like it because the grip is actually too small. It only has room for two fingers. The last one just rests on the bottom of the clip.

If you do use it though, you put it out during the rut when the bucks are checking their scrapes. Just sprinle it right in the scrape itself.

I'd prefer no fence just because I've seen instances on TV where deer have died because their foot got stuck in 3-4 foot fences.

It depends, if you get ballistic tips, it'll expand real nice. But one bullet I'll never use again are the Remington CoreLokt. I've double lunged small does with them and they still ran 50-60 yards.

My dad has a Blackhawk in .41 mag. It's a nice gun when it comes down to looks and accuracy, but like stated above, it is annoying loading the shells one by one.

Walk as slowly as you can, the slower you walk, the more nervous the birs gets and it doesn't flush out until you are pretty much standing on it. When they flush out right there, it scares the heck out of you. But also, you don't neccesarily have to hunt thick areas, I like to walk old loging roads and I get pretty lucky.

libertys right, if you get a blind made from netting, you can just shoot right through it. But if you are getting the tent-like blind, you are going to want to put it on a flat area, clear the leaves and other foliage before you set it up, and after you set it up, you are going to want to put tree limbs/bushes in front of it so it gets broken up. Also, put it out as far away from the opener as you can. The longer the deer have to get used to it, the safer they'll feel around it, come deer season. Good Luck!

Well, it depends on what the minimum draw weight is on your bow. If it is 60 go crank it down to there, but if it goes down to 50, I'd say go to 55-60 and practice everyday if you can. After a while, you'll be able to pull the 70# back, but 60-65 is all you really need.

You are going to get so many different answers to this it's not even funny, but my personal favorite is night crawlers. The fun thing about those is, everything eats them. I catch bass, cats, and the occasional pickerel.

I've had one camera destroyed by a bear. I have pics of him walking toward it and then no pictures after that. When I found it, he ripped it off the tree and got it open. Water fried everything except the memory card.

I've never had a stand stolen even though where I keep my ladder stand is about 100 yds. away from the state game lands. I feel lucky after hearing what could happen.

When I was sighting my turkey gun in with the 3 1/2 inch magnums. That's the beauty of adrenaline, you don't feel the recoil.

For that caliber, I would look into a Colt Mustang. Small, light, and shoots straight. The only thing I hate about shooting it is that it is loud as Hell.

Mine wasn't so much crazy as funny, it was last spring gobbler, and I was watching these two small jakes, and a rabbit popped out of a bush and it scared the hell outta them jakes. They jumped up so high, I couldn't help but laugh and they heard me and then got even more scared. Even though I didn't get anything last season, I still had a few laughs out in the woods.

I usually stay with the neck shots or behind the shoulder. But if I'm using flintlock and the animal is close enough, I just aim right at the shoulder.

What I like to do is get a hypodermic needle and some baby nightcrawlers, and blow some air into the worms so they float up off of the bottom. I usually limit out when others aren't catching anything when I do that.

Don't use rooster tails for natives. Use wax worms, red worms, baby night crawlers, any knind of worm you can get your hands on. I like to dig in my mothers garden for worms, I get alot for free. But assuming you are fishing a small stream, don't use any spinners, just cast a worm or grub into the current and wait. And when you catch them, wet your hands before handling them because they have a layer of slime that protects them from infection.

Elmers right, Toms don't respond to decoys in the fall. First thing that you have to do is find an area with gobbler sign (if you don't know how to tell gobbler sign from other, just ask) or any turkey sign if you are allowed to shoot hens in the fall, and just go back to that spot the first day. As for the calling, in the fall, I do more clucking than anything. Elmer mentioned the Kee Kee, I only use that when I break up a flock of young birds. To break them up, all you do is run at them yelling or something. The Kee Kee is just the young birds trying to yelp but the first two "yelps" sound like it is saying "Kee Kee". The reason it does that is because they are too excited or scared to make the right sound. I kill alot of birds using the Kee Kee. And yelping is also good for calling the birds in.

For a beginner, a slate isn't always the best call to start out with. When I first started calling my own birds in, I was using a box call. Easy to master but if you don't have the slide strapped down tight enough, it might make some unwanted noise when walking into the woods. Diaphram calls are also easier to use than slates, also better to use when you have a bird coming in.

It gives the fish a chance to get the lure in its mouth all of the way.

I've never felt the need to use one, I think if a bass likes what it sees, it'll take your bait/lure.

First of all, Big O is right, you can't buy a rifle even a BB gun at that. But when you find someone to buy it for you get a .22 in bolt, pump, or lever action. Don't get a semi-auto because the people that are teling you to obviously don't live in Pa. IT IS ILLEGAL TO HUNT WITH A SEMI AUTOMATIC FIREARM IN PENNSYLVANIA. I'm not trying to make this into a sob story, but he'll take anything that shoots straight.

I have a red dot on my bow. There is no need for a peep and depending on your bows range, is accurate to about 30 yards without raising the bow.

I just fill a hook up with canned corn.

Also, use different colored shells and bullets for each gun because those two calibers are extremely close and pretty hard to tell apart. You don't wanna mix them up.

I usually build my own so I'll tell you what I do. I find a tree that has enough room and is sturdy enough. Then I hammer a few boards into the main tree "limbs" I don't know what else to call them, then I screw some 4x4's into them so they go across and make supports for a sheet of plywood. Then I cover the plywood up with a couple of 4x4's to make it strong and safe enough for me. I put railings up with carpet around them so I don't make any unwanted noise when I am resting my rife. Also, I like to put camo mesh or someting like that so I could move my feet a little bit without being seen.

Yes that stream can very well be fished out, stocked trout are one of the easiest fish to catch due to their willingness to take almost anything.

I own a litle under 300 acres up in NEPA. The reason we have so much is because my land is split up between 20 people plus change.

I usually bring my trout pole to my cabin when turkey hunting, then after hunting, go right down to my brookie stream.

I have itin the .300 wsm. It is very light, accurate, and my favorite part was the action. All you have to do is lift the bolt and it pretty much slides back on its own.

I have a foreman 450 and it has more than enough towing power. I use it to tow cutters around to cut fields that have terrible terrain and I need alot of power. The foreman works well for me, and if you choose it, it'll work well for you.

It's the heat. Trout are most active when the water is cold and it is fairly warm outside. What you have to do is cast a worm out with one small weight (or more if needed) and cast it into the current. Let it float downstream and just wait. Sometimes in the summer, you don't feel the fish hit and they just sit in one spot with your bait so be ready when you are reeling in.

The only guns I would need are my 300 win. mag. for all big game, and my .222 rem. for everything small.

When I go to Texas, I usually like to fish late at night into the early morning.

Get a small jigging pole. You are going to see some for dirt cheap that have the plastic reels, DO NOT GET THEM. You can get cheap combos from Gander, Dicks, and Cabelas. Fish finders are nice, but they are not a neccesity, they are expensive as anything. You'll need small vertical jigs for the panfish and you even get the occasional bass. I like to tip the jigs with wax worms, but many people use different things with luck. Tip-ups are for catching bigger fish. You check the depth, and put your minnow around 5-10 feet off of the bottom. Oh and when your jigging, keep your drag loose enough so if you get a big crappie or bass, it won't break your line. Good luck when the season makes it's way over here.

The type of jig I like to use are Trout Magnets. You cast them into the current and just jig them in.

Sharpen your hooks, and like Del said, try a stiffer rod.

Well you are going to want a diffrent gun for deer than the gun you use for groundhogs. For deer and coyotes, get maybe a .270. They are fast and accurate bullets. And for groundhog, get a .220 swift, like Reid Jones said they are the fastest bullet out there. But the only downside for the .220 swift is their weight. I own one and it is the heaviest gun in my safe.

Well, I was fishing for brook trout, I lost the biggest brookie of my life, then when I was riding my 4-wheeler to a new spot, I flipped it and broke my trout pole. I'll always miss that thing. And if I didn't have my helmet on, I would'vehit my head on a rock. My helmet was cracked I hit the rock so hard.

Use minnows, cut bait, chicken livers, simple but effective night crawlers, and maybe try some of the bagged stuff.

Mine are at 15, 25, 35, 45. I don't feel comfortable making shots longer than that with the bow.

I've been doing good with live chubs. I just hook them through the upper lip and cast them out. You have to catch them yourself though, noone sells them.

It's illegal to hunt with more than 3 shells in your shotgun during turkey season up where I am. I don't know where you are but I'm just saying, check your local laws before you go into the woods with all of the shells in your weapon.

I've used soft points and hate the fact that deer run 40-50 yards after double lunging them. So I switched to ballistic tips and drop the every deer I shoot at right in its tracks.

Depending on what kind of gun you use and what kind of terrain you hunt...For large fields, I like to use 3 1/2 inch mags in #5 shot for my remington. When I am hunting woodlots, I use 3 inch mags in #4 shot for a browning...

Well it depends on what kind of bird you are shooting and what caliber/load you are using. If your turkey hunting, with a shotgun, you aim at the base of the neck when the bird is close and right at the head if it is far away. But with small birds, aim as high as you can. As long as you are accurate, the bird won't feel a thing.

I like to sight it in at 100 and leave it a little high like alot of other folks said...

Try using soft plastic worms. Texas rig them, carolina rig them, get some trick worms and fish them using the wacky worm rig. Fish the cover!

I hate to break it to you but the only way you could get a fillet kniffe that doesn't need to be sharpened every time you use it is if you buy a very expensive piece of cutlery.

Since I use an O/U, I keep a modified in my first barrel and a full in my second... but if I need to, I'll switch barrels depending on the range of the birdies.

Like huntcamp said, bigger bait, bigger fish. And also, you could try bringing an ultra light or light action rod for when you are fishing, you could try catching bluegill/bream and if you get one small enough, use it for bait!

You could throw corn out up to about a month before the season starts, and you can try to plant a late food plot.

I've been technically attacked by a porcupine...I was walking in the woods during spring gobbler and I came up on it eating turkey eggs.it didnt see me so I took my turkey shell out and while I was putting a low brass in, it saw me then rushed me...I've never heard of it happening but that little "...." I don't mind saying is out of commission.

I saw a couple fresh hatched(a few days old) in the spring gobbler season.

I'm going to have to stay with the Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). That gun is both reliable and accurate.

All of the answers you are going to get are going to be opinions, so heres mine. I use jitterbugs early morning and dusk. In the day time depending on the time of year, I use either deep diving crankbaits or texas/wacky rigged worms.

Try using a shotgun, it doesn't really matter what guage you use, use bird shot or something aloong those lines. It takes them out anywhere up to probably 45 yards depending on the barrel length of your gun.

If they're not a problem now, they will be. I'll just have to take a walk down there to help you out!

Have the state/city shock the waters and when the snakeheads float up, net them! It is not lethal to the native fish at all, it just puts them into a moment of shock and as soon as the electric current leaves the water, they could swim away unharmed.

The .22 would be good for the small game. And the 7mm would be more than enough for the bear.

This is just my opinion but knock down power doesn't mean much to me. I use a .300 win. short mag. and if I hit a deer in the hind leg, the size of the bullet doesn't mean anything because that deer is going to be a mile away in a minute so what would you rather, not getting a big buck because you can't handle a gun or get that buck even if you don't have the bragging rights of using a .338.

If you are hunting public land, the birds are probably used to calling. What you have to do is cluck, but not too loud, softly. You may not think that the bird could hear you, but he can.
