In the 19th century, when China was still ruled by emperors, a British trader asked a mandarin if it did not bother him that there were two standards of justice, one for the poor and another for the wealthy and well connected.
“Of course not,” said the mandarin, “it gives poor people all the more incentive to work hard and become rich.”
This guy is an idiot. He shot himself because he was dinking around and trying to show off for some girl. He actually ended up looking like and idiot instead of a superstar. Way to go Plaxico! thanks for the daily dose of stupidity.
"Greg and I took a guided hunting trip to Newfoundland to celebrate his safe return from his third tour in Iraq and Afghanistan. We'd been hunting all day and probably covered 10 miles on foot when Greg killed his caribou. After we covered the caribou with some branches to hide it from eagles, we began the long trek to the truck.
Felons who think their criminal past shouldn't keep them from having the right to hunt are getting some attention in the state's and nation's capitals.
A Western North Carolina business owner told state Rep. Phil Haire his convictions for breaking-and-entering and larceny, stemming from a decades-old theft of copper wire, keep him from hunting.
Being arrested is one thing, but being arrested and charged as a felon is different. Felonies are typically violent crimes and involve people not property (excluding grand theft, arson etc.) Legally putting a weapon in these peoples hands is irresponsible. They had their chance and they messed up. Criminals need to think about where the crime will get them in the long term. I personally would not feel safe knowing that I am out in the middle of no where with several serious criminals all armed and around me.
The old man waited for me at the end of the dock, where he'd been pulling sac-au-lait—crappies—from the brown waters of Bayou Lafourche. My hunched shoulders tipped him off. "No écureuil?" he asked, in the clipped tones of old Cajun French. He was incredulous. This 89-year-old Louisiana papa, with white hair and eyes the color of Spanish moss, had never heard of such a thing. "No écureuil," I said, hanging my head. No squirrel.
Check out some recent catches that might earn these anglers a spot in the IGFA record books. From bull-dogging tuna on four-pound-test line to epic halibut battles, these fish may be the ones to beat for future record-hunters.
He may have gotten away with it in 10,000 B.C. with a mammoth, but a Chesterfield Township man was fined $1,000 in Ontario for killing a black bear with a spear.
As a kid in the 1950s, I was taught that the Democratic Party was the repository of all human evil, and in the ensuing half-century I haven’t seen a lot to make me change that point of view. However, this past week, a pair of Democratic senators have done shooters a great service. To wit:
Wait and see how much anti-gun legislation is passed with a democrat run congress, and president. The law regarding the right to carry in national parks and other important gun legislation will go in favor of anti gun appreciators. With the current financial plan that Obama has set forth will create huge inflation in 2 years followed by one of recession. Guns and ammo will increase in price greatly due to the increased cost of metal.
Here's proof that anything goes on the Internet these days. Cupidfish.com is a straight-up dating site for those looking to connect with outdoorsmen and women. Initially I thought, "hey, not a bad idea."
Not a bad idea. But why one would want to take their girl fishing/hunting with them, I don't know. I go fishing and hunting to get away from her LOL. It is one of the few times that I can go and hang out with the guys and do and say what I want. It is a time to relax and have some male bonding. My guy friends have never yelled at me about picking up the seat, or watching the game.
Who among us younger hunters doesn't look back on the completion of our hunter safety course as a major childhood or adolescent milestone on the path to becoming a hunter? Passing your hunter safety course and getting that card was a gateway into the adult world. It meant you possessed the knowledge, ethics and the responsibility that is required of a hunter.
What you weren't required to have was a particular political or religous philosophy. Unless, of course, this guy was your instructor.
Well if you voted for Obama, I am not sure how much you treasure your guns and rights to hunt. If you want that way of life don't voted democrat, simple as that. The instructor probably went about it the wrong way, but he also probably didn't expect to see a liberal anxious to get a gun and go hunting.

Why do people do stupid stuff? Is it really that difficult to follow laws? It is stuff like this that gives hunters a bad name/reputation.
