This is great news, until Obama hears of it.
I enjoy bird hunting as well. I like it because you get more shooting in, you usually don't have to be as quite, and typically more people join us on bird hunts. I love all types of hunting, but birds would be my favorites.
Still hunt them. I hunt elk in Colorado and it is usually very difficult. You can just look at Colorado's DOW website and see the success rates, which are really low. Southwestern Colorado is definitely the place to go though. I am thinking about hunting one of those units down there. Good Luck.
The biggest animal that I have ever got has been a 5x5 mule deer in Colorado. I was using my first rifle that I got. It was a great trip and hopefully I will get even bigger animals in the future. I would love to get an elk but unfortunately have been un-able to draw these past couple years.
I think that for fish, a beer batter makes them taste great. it is probably not the healthiest of choices but it sure does taste good.
For deer, I cut up the meat and marinade them in a Paul Newman terriyaki marinade. It tastes great. I have friends who are very against eating mule deer due to the sage brush taste, but they even found the meat enjoyable. The marinade makes the meat more tender as well.
Its nice to hear some good news out of the sportsmen world!
This just makes me more and more excited for summer time when I can get out and do some more fishing.
I agree lol. This is a great site to gather information for the spring and fall for both hunting and fishing. It is a great tool though in getting more knowledge on the sports that we all love.
I have heard of this, and think that it is appalling! How ruthless does one have to be to do this? I think that they should receive jail time and be fined. To accompany these punishments, they should have their snowmobiles confiscated and all hunting/fishing rights taken away. Unfortunately this type of act always has a negative effect for both wildlife and hunters alike. It is really disappointing that one would do this to an animal.
Bugling mount looks beautiful, but a lot of taxidermist's charge a pretty penny for this type of mount. Regardless of what you do, I would do a shoulder mount for a nice elk.
