Q:How do you handle the fishing failures of those days when you just can’t catch them at all?

Agreed with Jim. Although not catching anything is extremely frustrating you are outside on the water enjoying yourself. Usually when I get skunked I dont let it bother me and I think about what I can do next time to catch them.

I have one in original frog pattern and i haven't caught anything much on it except for some Rockbass. I have pretty much given up and haven't used it lately.
Q:If you could harvest only one last animal or catch one more fish, what would it be?

My last hunt would be for a big old heavy racked mule deer. Last fishing trip would have to be in the middle of no where on a mountain stream somewhere north or out west and be able to catch a bunch of native cutthroats or big native brookies. Just a peaceful trip with lots of fish.
I have had pretty good luck on small jig heads with a tiny tube attached. Mostly all small though.

i caught tons of ladyfish in sarasota fl. using glass minnow imitations like jig heads with haulographic skirts like on big tuna baits. very small jigs. also on clear or speckaled curly tail jigs. Caught them on the same stuff i was using for seatrout. also on shrimp tipped jigs.

i can't believe the Phoebe wasn't mentioned. I have caught over a hundred trout on this lure. Some fairly big. I go with a gold one about a 1/4 ounce? A small one anyway.

i agree with labrodor12 with the mepps and worm idea..i have killed the natives on these methods..however..dont use nightcrawlers, they are too big... a small garden worm threaded on a small hook hangin off on the end is a killer
Freshwater: Smallmouth. They are unbelievably aggressive and anything over 15 inches puts up a great fight and fight the hardest pound for pound. Saltwater: Either tarpon or a big yellowfin tuna.
