Speaking of “hunting accidents” that may not be hunting accidents . . . from Lebanon Daily News:
A central Pennsylvania woman who police said was shot to death while hunting Saturday was to be the main witness in a rape trial next month.
State police said Monday that the death of 21-year-old Racheal Lynn Perryman of Port Matilda is being investigated by the state police, county coroner and state Game Commission. . . .
She was muzzleloader hunting with her boyfriend. They say it happend around 9pm but it gets dark around 6:20. The guy who supposedly raped her was workin at the bryce jordan center at the time of the incident. Seems fishy to me! I dont know how people shoot other people "on accident" when hunting. Just a couple months ago some guy shot a women while he was spring gobbler hunting! She was walking her dog!!!! Who shoots at movement?!?!?!
I struggled how to work this image into a blog post about fly fishing for the past couple of weeks. Then it hit me...The caption contest. I mean, how could I not post this gem of a restroom sign? I found it while shooting a web story for F&S about stocking the high altitude lakes with airplanes (story forthcoming). I figure the bathroom was in a Department of Wildlife airplane hanger, and the pilot was stocking fish, so yeah - I can post it on a fly fishing blog. Right?
I know some of you might have seen this image before up here in another form or fashion, but man what a great caption contest image it's going to make. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. This is my friend Bryan "Bear" Holeman. One half of the Holeman Brothers Guide Company after a stellar day on the marshes of Louisiana.
You know the drill. If you come up with the best caption for this image you'll win...
Two Idaho hunters shot wolves in opposite sides of the state opening the state's first wolf season.
Robert Millage of Kamiah said he was surrounded by a pack of wolves before dawn and waited until light to call them with a hand call that sounded like a wounded coyote. The 80-pound female wolf came fast to him 25 yards before Millage shot her with his .243 rifle in the Lolo Zone.
Yes I know, some of you might have seen this image in the magazine a couple of months ago. You didn't get to write your own witty caption for it though.
We'll give it about a week and whomever comes up with the best caption for this photograph will win...
