i have a mossberg 500 and a rifled barrel, the sabots do shoot better down range but when do you really take the down range shot. being from ohio i usually do not take more than a 60 yard shot. but on the other hand my gun is dead on at 100 yards with winchester 3" 1.oz rifled slugs
.22`s are cheap to shoot but what can they put down? squirrels? Rabbits? Ground Hogs any other kind of varmit but thats about it.
the remington model 700 and the remington 870 are the most economical and frickin sweet cause my daddy shoots them
i took down a 5x5 bull elk in gunnison colorado cunningham gulch in the sage at 230 yards with a reminton 700 30.06 shooting 180 grain nosler partitions.
i was brought up to put the cross hairs right behind the shoulder. i shot a 10 point this year with a arrow hole clean through it`s neck so that turned me off to the whole neck shot thing but if it works for u than use it.
i think it depends on the season of hunting for camo. during spring turkey season i like to use mossy oak breakup. but during bow and gun season i really like realtree hard woods hd. and as for ammo being from ohio i like winchester slugs and federal rifle cartridges.
i have found alot of sheds and the best way i have found is to have the sun to your back just after the snow melts the anlters are shiny when they are wet and the sun gives them a glare and makes them easy to see
