Flyfishing for Ice-Out Pickerel

No fish thrives so well in the tanic cedar rivers, bogs, and ponds of the New Jersey Pine Barrens as chain pickerel. In the late winter and early spring, these little predators sun themselves on the flats after ice-out, just like pike and muskie. If you're up for a challenge, they make great fly rod sport.
