Most people, not surpisingly, would never consider New York City to be a prime fishing destination. But the diverse saltwater ecosystem around this concrete jungle offers impressive shots at many species, most notably striped bass and bluefish during the spring. In this Hook Shots episode, Joe Cermele heads out during the annual Manhattan Cup Tournament to bend some rods in a big city setting. In-coming jets, shotgun starts, and reel-screaming fish are all part of the action.

lots of good fishing around NYC. Between the Jersey Shore and Long Island (Montauk), there's a lot of good fishing available, particularly in the Fall.

Love it! The scenes of all the boats racing by the NYC skyline and the Statue of Liberty are great. You guys really get across how much fun it is to get out on the water and catch some fish, no matter what's biting.

heck yea the fishing is that good in new york... everyone upstate dreams of gettin down by the city for some amazing striper fishin all u gotta do is throw some herring on and u will catch them i no i always do
