The Sound: Algernon Cadwallader is as quirky as their name. With jazzy, fast guitar work played crisp and clean, you want to call them "pop." But the raspy vocals with emotional--if not desperate--tones won't let you. It's far more sophisticated than punk, but just as anarchistic in its own Algernon kind of way.
