The Tournament II TFD-2000 spinning model weighed in as a good buy in an all-metal reel. It comes with a spare graphite spool. Our tests generated comments such as ‘excellent drag’ and ‘easy cast feathering’ to place a lure right on target. One tester felt there was a little ‘vibration over the retrieve.’ The company offers a companion series of Tournament II Plus reels with more bearings (9), but we didn’t try any of them.
