Cortland’s Change-a-Tip System has an edge over its competitors. The system consists of four separate forward-taper tips (a floater, a clear intermediate, a ‘Type Three’ medium-sinking and a ‘Type Six’ extra-fast-sinking tip) that interchange with the line’s floating body. The edge here: The tips connect via interlocking loops that are stiff and double-braided, which means that the lines don’t hinge the way some systems do. In other words, Cortland’s system doesn’t adversely affect cast performance. The tips are also small enough to allow easy passage through guides and are available in sizes 5 through 10.
