The newest and least expensive rods in the Interline series, Daiwa's Procaster Linears feature a design in which the line is threaded through the rod blank, thus eliminating guides. The advantages of this are smooth power application with no guide-induced dead spots, no twisting of the blank, no line fouling around the tiptop, and no slack line between guides. You string the rod using a fine cable line threader. The only drawback is that minute debris can get into the rods, but this can be flushed out with a hose. Our medium topwater model was well constructed and cast well. The series includes trigger-grip casting models and one spinning rod. All rods are one-piece.
