Rapala’s new balsa wood lure, the SkitterPop, sports a unique cupped plastic lip that allows a variety of topwater action. A steady retrieve while pumping the rod tip creates a ‘skittering’ motion that imitates a fleeing baitfish; ‘popping’ the lure by giving it a sharp jerk, then letting it rest while reeling in the slack, will make it spit water a fair distance. The lure also features a hand-tied dressed tail for added attraction. Available in sizes 7 (shown) and 9, and in four colors
