Tiger-muskie hunters, listen up: The Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife has provided a listing, by District, of where 6- to 12-inch fish were stocked during the last decade. Stocker tigers need three to five years to reach the legal limit of 28 inches. But with a decade of consistent stocking, there are some lunkers out there. The A-1 site in Westboro, where the 25-pound state pike record was caught in 1999, has been stocked with tigers since 1994. One of the state’s largest tiger muskies came from Hampton Ponds in Westfield in 1999; it weighed 12 pounds, 8 ounces. Hampton Ponds have received tigers every year since 1993. Given the potential growth rate, both A-1 and Hampton Ponds are key locations this month. Contact: Get the tiger-muskie waters listing at any district office, or go to www.masswildlife.org.
