Wilcraft: Ultimate Ice Fishing Vehicle?

The Wilcraft (Water Ice Land Craft) was invented by Tom Roering, who needed a way to get his elderly father and children safely onto the ice. It’s also a vehicle designed for ice fishing during the prime later winter days when ice is too thin to traverse safely.

The Wilcraft’s tires provide propulsion and, along with the foam-filled hull, flotation. Once you reach your fishing spot, you can lower the hull down onto the ice, pop up the cover and can drop a line through one of three holes cut in the Wilfcraft’s deck.

Roering says although the vehicle weighs about 600 pounds the 2 psi tires allow it to travel on ice as thin as two inches without breaking through. And, if it does encounter a patch of thin ice, it floats and you can drive it back up onto the ice or pop up the cover and fish right there.
