Pike are ferocious, cannibalistic predators that won’t turn away an easy meal, even with a full stomach.

Case in point is a video recently posted to YouTube showing a few ice anglers hoisting a respectable jackfish. The woman behind the camera sounds a little excited, possibly because she’s the one who caught the fish, but a few seconds into the clip, her enthusiasm is replaced by shock-and-awe.

Using a pair of jaw splitters and hook remover, two men are able to grab the tail of a another pike and pry out a half-digested fish that was about half the size of its attacker. Proof that when times get lean in a pike’s world, it’s eat or be eaten.
