Many anglers regard pike as one of the most aggressive freshwater game fish because of their tendency to slash at a surface baits. An angler fishing a frog pattern across the surface of a small backwater near Togiak, Alaska recently found out just how fast pike can be when a nice fish jets out from under lily pads to strike.

The angler captured the encounter on camera and posted a clip on YouTube. The best part of the clip might be the surprise in the angler’s voice just after the fish lunges.
