Video: Why Do Anglers Go All the Way to New Zealand?

I had always wondered what all the fuss was about. I mean, New Zealand is a long way to go—a 12-hour flight from Los Angeles to Auckland, then another couple-hour hop to the South Island—for brown trout. Yes, brown trout—which we have plenty of here in the States.

That said, I finally went, and all I've thought about since was going back. It's a bucket-lister for the ages.

Though I've already shared some insights from that trip, my friend Todd Moen of Catch Magazine recently released a video from the week we fished at Cedar Lodge together.

This should much explain why anglers make the haul.
