Following its highly successful introduction of the Versa Max in 2010, Remington is introducing the Versa Max Sportsman for 2013. The Sportsman uses the exact same auto-loading system as the Versa Max but it comes with less features. It doesn’t feature molded grips, an adjustable comb, or length of pull kit.

One Remington rep described it as “a gun in a box.” The trade off is that the Sportsman does feature a lighter price tag. The Sportsman MSRP stands at about $1,000, while the Versa Max runs for $1,400.
