From _The Columbus Dispatch:
_

_Columbus City Schools will not expel a Northland High School student who fired a Nerf foam-dart gun in school.
_

_Devon Scott, 14, could have been expelled for at least one year if district officials had adhered to a strict interpretation of the state’s zero-tolerance weapons policy and the federal Gun-Free Schools Act, which, in theory, apply even to look-alike weapons.
_

_At a disciplinary hearing yesterday, however, officials decided that a previously imposed suspension was sufficient punishment for Scott, who will be permitted to return to class.
