_Advocates for protecting wolves have reached a court-ordered settlement with the federal government that restores protections for gray wolves in the Great Lakes area.

_Under the agreement announced Monday, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will rescind its April decision to remove the wolves from the Endangered Species Act list.

The settlement…stems from a lawsuit filed by the Humane Society of the United States, the Center for Biological Diversity, Help Our Wolves Live, Friends of Animals and Born Free USA.
