I enjoy reading about anything Eddie Nickens writes. But his piece on frog hunting is my current favorite. I used to countdown the days until frog season when I was a kid. Traditionally, it opened the third Friday in May in Kentucky. That worked out nicely. Sometimes, school was over and done with by then, but just as often, there were a few days left the following week. I could gig Friday-night frogs and take the leftover legs in my lunch box the next week. Even leftover frog legs are better than the freshest hamburger goulash.
