Stumbled across this promo for the Ausable River in Upstate New York. It's beautifully shot, well narrated, and, for all intent and purposes, is a commercial for a trout stream. I'm sure many of you would have similar commercials tied to your home river (and lucky you if that's the case). But I got thinking about what the commercial for Stony Brook, the closest "trout stream" to my home, would look like. Key points would include getting there early on opening day, not bothering with anything but the bridge holes, not bothering to show up at all after the first week of May, trading in sexy dry flies for salmon egg flies, and dipping said salmon egg flies in cheese PowerBait or shrimp oil first. Your turn. Have some fun with it.
