Mule deer numbers have, as a whole, seen significant decreases across the West in the past decade, and, needless to say, this has raised concerns among state game managers and organizations, such as the Mule Deer Foundation. However, due to successive mild winters, better range management, and increased predator control, mule deer populations have recently seen a slight increase in many areas. This season Western hunters really took advantage of these increasing numbers, and, in virtually every region, some impressive mule deer hit the ground.
