Yeah, I know the ATA show was almost two months ago, but there was so much good stuff there that I’m still not done telling you about it all. Walking by the Tinks (tinks.com) booth reminded me of how impressed I was last fall while using the company’s Hot Shot Mist for the first time.

Like I say in the video below, this product is not brand new for this year, but if you haven’t tried it you should.

According to the labeling, it sprays 100 percent pure deer urine from an internal compressed bag that keeps the pressurizing agent separated from the urine, thus not contaminating it. Which is all well and good, I suppose, but what I really like about the Hot Shot dispenser is that it takes the mess out of depositing scent, it allows you to shoot a mist downwind from your stand, and you get a ton of use out of each container. You can buy Hot Shot loaded with estrous doe urine, non-estrous doe urine, or trophy buck urine, and there are a couple of synthetic-urine options, too.

What is brand new from Tink’s this year and solves a real problem for North Country deer hunters like myself is No-Freeze #69 Doe-in-Rut lure, in which an odorless additive prevents the urine from freezing. The product is not on their website yet, but should be in plenty of time for any freezing temperatures during next fall’s buck rut.
