Not only did I get a gun for Christmas, but I got one I've wanted for, oh, about 30 years—since I was a kid hunting grouse and rabbits around the dairy farms where I grew up. Back then, a buddy of mine had an Ithaca Model 37 Featherlight in 20 gauge that I coveted terribly. The gun was so slim and slick, and so quick to get on rocketing grouse that I just had to have one. And Friday morning, I finally got one—or close enough. The 1950s-era Model 37 Featherlight in the photo above is in 16 gauge, which is actually even cooler.
