200 Washington Elk Hunters Rescued; One Dead

Dangerous floods in Washington's Lewis County prompted rescue workers to evacuate more than 200 elk hunters from the Randle-Packwood area. Unfortunately, one could not be saved. From the Longview Daily News:
_A 20-year-old Seattle man died Monday after his truck slid into a raging Cowlitz River in Lewis County, authorities said.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office said Andy McDonald was hunting elk near Jody's Bridge when he went missing. His truck was later discovered overturned in the middle of the Cowlitz, but the rushing waters prevented authorities from pulling it ashore until late in the day._
