
Okay, maybe it’s no great surprise that Alabama’s state aligator record has been broken, seeing that the inaugural season was just last year. But officials think the new mark, set by a 492-pound, 12-1/2 footer taken by Cory Smith on Saturday, will be tough to beat. Smith’s hunting partner may have a shot at it, though: “My wife killed a 400-pounder last year on the Delta,” he told reporters. Read it here.
