For several months now, we’ve been following a story regarding customized stamps available through that depict what the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance calls “anti-hunting slogans” and whose proceeds benefit the Humane Society, as well as The Committee to Restore the Dove Ban. Now, thanks largely to a backlash from sportsmen opposed to the animal rights group getting any kind of dividend from a public resource, has decided to discontinue the stamps. The USSA responds: “Because of the diligent work of . . . thousands of sportsmen all over the country who wrote to the U.S. Postmaster General, their legislators and to these stamps will no longer be sold, putting a halt to a source of fundraising for anti-hunting groups such as HSUS and ending the outrageous misuse of the USPS as a pulpit for anti-animal use political messages.”
