In yesterday’s news, we cited a new study from the University of Alberta Centre for Mathematical Biology indicating that anywhere wild fish and fish farming coexist in the same area sea lice from the farms kill as much as 95 per cent of wild young salmon passing by them. In today’s news, the Atlantic Salmon Federation says that’s not the case, at least not according to their research in New Brunswick. They are, in fact, one of several groups (some less-biased than others) to challenge the study. Let the debating begin.
