Bleeding Virus Threatens More Fish

The hemorrhagic septicemia virus, which causes a variety of sportfish to bleed to death, has already cause massive fish kills in the Great Lakes. Now that it has been found in Wisconsin's Lake Winnebago, anglers fear it could spread to hundred of miles of connected trout streams and lakes.

"Is it going to wipe out fishing? No," Wisconsin DNR's fisheries management director Mike Staggs told the Associated Press. "But this is a threat. A significant threat."
