Suddenly jolted and thrown from his kayak, a California angler identified only as “Dan” gathered himself and saw a great white shark gnawing on the bow or his small boat. Incredibly, he made it to shore unharmed. Afterward, a fellow kayaker and fisherman told the San Francisco Chronicle that no one at the angler club has been able to get hold of Dan since he left the beach Saturday morning.

“Either he’s having post-traumatic stress or his wife has taken away all his fishing stuff,” he said.
