Church Will Have Moment of Silence to Remember Wild Turkey

A pastor calling a wild turkey a “model member” of his church may cause you to wonder about his congregation. But this was no ordinary turkey. The bird regularly attended Sunday services and greeted people as they arrived, according to Rev. James Huff of Lambs United Methodist Church.

"He would kind of wait for me to come in," Huff told the Times Herald of Port Huron. "He knew when I got there. Service was about to begin, and then he would sit on one lady's car until we were done." The turkey died last week after it was hit by a car and the church will have a moment of silence this Sunday in remembrance.
