Congress passes NRA-backed Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006

The NRA's well-known campaign to protect the rights of law-abiding gun owners during states of emergencies by barring the sort of illegal confiscations seen in New Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina is nearly complete.
