Too many hunters and target shooters do not belong to sportsmen’s or conservation organizations. According to a recent poll of 1,388 sportsmen and women by HunterSurvey, about one-third of the respondents were not members of such a group. Offered a selection of reasons why, the most common reason given was not being aware of any groups effectively advancing the issues important to the respondents (22 percent), followed by not willing to spend the money required to be a member (20 percent). . . . Considering the wide range of issues that are gradually decreasing opportunities to enjoy a day in-the-field or are jeopardizing the future of America’s wildlife, sportsmen and women are encouraged to get involved.
