This incredible photo was sent to us from a friend, who writes:
"[This] deer was killed in Clarion County, Pennsylvania. [It] weighed 412 pounds. Supposedly, [it] could be the heaviest whitetail ever taken."
Assuming the photos are for real and if the "412 pounds" is a dressed weight, this may indeed be the heaviest whitetail ever. To my knowledge, the heaviest recorded to date is a Minnesota giant taken by Carl J. Lenander, Jr. in 1929 that dressed out at 402 pounds and had an estimated live weight of 511 pounds.
One thing is for sure, unless those are very small hunters in the photo, this is one colossal buck. Have you ever seen bigger? Does anyone know anything more about this deer?
