Remember Rex Rammell? He’s the eastern Idaho man who was arrested twice (and later acquitted) over confrontations with wildlife officials and hunters after former Gov. Jim Risch opened season on the 160-plus domesticated elk that escaped the rancher’s private hunting reserve last year. The story made big news, and now Rammell is planning a run for the US Senate. To sweeten the plot, he may be up against Risch.
From The Times-News:
_That’s an idea Rammell relishes. In fact, he said his campaign wouldn’t exist if it wasn’t for Risch’s order to hunt down Rammell’s escaped elk in an effort to prevent disease and interbreeding.
“I would like to go head-to-head with Jim,” he said. “We’re so different in so many ways.”_
