Earning Bucks With Road Kill

From an Associated Press story in the Star Tribune:
_Call it the road-kill scam. Some deer hunters have tried to register an antlerless deer killed by a vehicle, to qualify to shoot a buck in this fall's hunt in hunting zones designated as earn-a-buck, state wildlife experts said Tuesday.

"It is certainly a ploy that has been tried before,'' said Bob Manwell, a spokesman for the state Department of Natural Resources. "I don't suspect it is successful all that often. Anybody who has driven by road kill, there are probably some that don't show much damage but most of them look pretty beat up.''_
