Fishing from a dock at night in Florida’s Venetian Isles, novice angler Ed Maloney called for backup when something huge slammed the 6-pound bonito he had out for bait. When his more experience cousin Frank took the rod, according to the St. Petersburg Times, he exclaimed, ‘Holy s—!’ This is just the strongest thing I’ve ever felt!”

The fish was too much for even two men, so they called in another angler, and eventually the exhausted men pulled in one giant bull shark. They measured it at 8 feet 10 inches and estimate its weight at between 650 and 700 pounds.
