Killer Bruin Captured: Tennessee authorities trap black bear believed guilty of recent maulings

In the wake of last Thursday's tragic maulings, which left 6-year-old Elora Petrasek dead and her mother and 2-year-old brother injured, officials at Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest Chilhowee Recreation Area have captured a black bear they believe is guilty of the attacks, noting that it is "basically the same-size bear" and that there aren't that many bruins in the 5,000-acre closed-off area. The captured animal has been euthanized and sent to the University of Tennessee's College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville to determine whether it attacked the family.
