State legislators have been busy with outdoor-related issues. There’s lots of good news in Mississippi, but some disturbing developments elsewhere that require our support, according to the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance. Here’s the rundown:
- In Mississippi, Governor Haley Barbour has signed three bills into law. One guarantees “no net loss” of public hunting lands; another establishes an internet hunting ban; and the third creates an apprentice hunting program. http://www.sunherald.com/mld/sunherald/sports/14737357.htm//
- In New York, the state Assembly has approved a bill to strip the state of its authority to regulate trapping.
