Among the 500 who gathered to protest a bill that could effectively ban hunting and fishing in New Jersey [see here] were legislators from both sides of the isle. From a NRA press release:
Assemblymen John Burzichelli, (D-3) told those in attendance "What a stupid bill, something that's been working for 60 years and we're going to fix it?"
State Senator Nick Asselta (R-1) accused North Jersey politicians of trying to "erode our way of life in South Jersey. This is where we need to draw the line."
State Senator Stephen Sweeney (D-3) also spoke in opposition to A3275 saying, "I promise you tonight, if that bill comes up we're going to kill it in the Senate."_
