North Dakota Cover-Your-Carcass Bill Dead

Not long ago, we posted a discussion topic regarding North Dakota Rep. Duane DeKrey’s proposed legislation to require successful big-game hunters to cover up their harvested animals when driving on an Interstate or state highway. You posted more comments in response to this topic than to any other news item to date.

Well, DeKrey heard you—or at least your fellow sportsmen, as he withdrew the proposal only days later. "Some of [the response] was even a lot more vitriolic than I ever dreamed it would have been," DeKrey, a hunter himself, told the Associated Press. "It was quite evident which way the bill was going."
