In an effort to reduce cougar complaints in Oregon’s Jackson County, state wildlife officials are reducing cougars there. Unfortunately, they have now discovered that three of the cats they took were outside of the target area. Animal-rights groups are jumping all over it, but state officials are openly calling it what it is, a mistake: “We messed up, we’re going to let people know we messed up and we’ll take steps to correct it,” a spokesman told the Mail Tribune on Wednesday.
