Public-Land Pot: Officials warn of dangerous national forest weed farms

Yes, national forests are designed in part to provide public recreation. But Forest Service personnel in California are careful to point out that there is at least one recreational activity that visitors should definitely not imbibe in. More specifically, if you stumble onto a giant garden of pot plants in the Shasta-Trinity National Forest, just say no. In fact, just walk away, because these illegal weed farms often have armed guards.
