Record Bass Was Full of Lead

The 22-inch smallmouth bass Washington angler Austin Kenyon caught this summer weighed 9.32 pounds on state-certified scales—easily enough to set a new state mark. But it won't be listed in the record book now that two of Kenyon's friend (whom he now claims not to know) have signed statements with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife that the bass had been stuffed with lead weights.
