World-Record Shark: Florida angler lands 750-pound hammerhead

Shark_3After spotting the beast devouring a tarpon in Boca Grand Pass, Fort Myers angler Capt. Andy Whitbread hooked a 750-pound hammerhead shark on a 12- to 15-pound live jack crevalle, then landed the monster on 80-pound line with a little help from his friends. The catch must yet be verified by the IGFA, but it should easily overtake the current world line-class record of 620 pounds.
