Early deer season in a treestand can be an effort in futility, as there can be so many limbs full of leaves around it’s nearly impossible to get off a clean shot at a deer. Late season can be just the opposite, however. When the cold has set in and all the leaves have fallen to the ground, it can feel like you’re sitting on a throne up there and every deer is likely to look at you when it passes by. That’s why some kind of camouflage material makes a good gift for treestand hunters. Whether burlap, mesh, or 3-D type materials that look like leaves, breaking up someone’s outline up high will lead to more success late in the season when cover is scarce.
