I use a great lure for it. It consists of a block of 1X2 wood carved so it loosely resembles a fish, and has three treble hooks hanging off of it. It weighs about two pounds but creates a ruckus on the surface that the musky go for right away.
The other one I use is an old lure I got from my grandpa that is carved into a family of ducks. It is one mother duck and four ducklings swimming in a line. each duckling has one treble hook and the hen has two trebles. It's carved out of wood, and the musky always go for the last duckling in line (I have to replace it next year, as it is getting too worn out from the strikes)
Use a nice size slip bobber and put a 6-8 inch sucker on and wait........dont set the hook to soon or you'll pull it out of the fishes mouth...good luck

Check out the luremaker,"MUSKY INNOVATIONS", they make great northern pike and musky lures.
The bigger the better. Grandma series lures are a great plug set. I caught my biggest northern on a 4 inch daredevil. color 5 of diamonds.
They aren't callled the fish of 1000 casts for nothing. The best advice I can give you is to try everything.
Most Tiger Muskies around where I live all eat almost 100% perch, all perch colored lures have worked well for me and my friends.
MUSKEY INOVATIONS
The fish should still be shallow. Use anything from top water down to 5 feet below the surface.
i use an old red and white plug i got from my grandpa works great in stained water
